Truck accidents are more likely to be fatal

Interstates and highways across the state of Kentucky are heavily utilized by commercial traffic. Thousands of semitrailers criss-cross the state 24 hours a day. However, these big rigs can be very intimidating to those in smaller passenger vehicles. Due to their massive size, any collision with a semitrailer can result in very serious injuries. Unfortunately, deaths in truck accidents are on the rise in the United States

A recent accident near Corbin involving two commercial trucks claimed the life of one man. The crash occurred during the morning hours on Highway 3041. Reports indicate that the driver of a westbound power truck collided with a semitrailer that was headed east

According to reports, the driver of the semitrailer suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a medical center for treatment. Tragically, authorities said the driver of the power truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Reportedly, the driver of the semitrailer was wearing a seat belt while the driver of the power truck was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

Semitrailers and other commercial vehicles are the lifeblood of the American economy and provide a reliable way to transport merchandise and other goods. However, these large vehicles can be very dangerous to smaller vehicles that share the same roads. When truck accidents in Kentucky result in the death of an individual, the surviving family members may be able to take action and file a lawsuit on behalf of the deceased victim. A successful lawsuit could result in substantial compensation to help families with end-of-life expenses and other monetary losses.
