A couple in another state filed a lawsuit against a fertility clinic after the couple allegedly gave birth to the wrong children. The plaintiffs said they struggled with infertility and, after spending over $100,000 on in vitro fertilization, the Asian-American couple finally became pregnant with female twins. However, the couple claimed that they instead gave birth to two male babies who were not of Asian decent.
According to the lawsuit, genetic testing later confirmed that the babies belonged to two other couples and the plaintiffs were forced to give the babies to their biological parents. The lawsuit claims that the fertility clinic implanted the wrong embryos. Allegedly, the clinic had knowledge of the mix-up and tried to hide it from the couple. The couple said they filed the lawsuit for compensation and also to make sure that this tragic event never happens again.
