Chiropractor accused of medical malpractice in model’s death

Many Kentucky residents seek treatment and advice from chiropractors on a regular basis. As with any medical specialty, unfortunate mistakes can occur. Anytime a mistake does occur, it has the potential to harm a patient. Recently, a wrongful death medical malpractice lawsuit has been filed in another state, alleging that a model’s spinal adjustment by a chiropractor resulted in her fatal injury.

The 34-year-old Playboy model visited a chiropractor for a spinal adjustment, and after treatment, she expressed pain, dizziness and weakness. Although, she sought treatment at an emergency room the same day for her symptoms, she did not survive. According to the coroner’s report, the adjustment likely injured an artery in her neck. The injured artery then resulted in an infarction or a stroke due to lack of blood flow to her brain.

Sadly, the model’s parents were not able to arrive at the hospital before their daughter died. The model is also survived by an 8-year-old girl, and she reportedly talks about her deceased mother constantly. The girl’s father has filed the lawsuit on behalf of his daughter and the model’s estate.

It is unfortunate when medical or chiropractic malpractice results in an unnecessary death. The family members of a deceased victim often must finance unexpected funeral expenses while they grieve the loss of their loved one. Adding to the stress of unexpected expenses, financing any related expenses may be difficult with the loss of the victim’s income. Although, financial compensation will not reverse the loss of a loved one, it can ease some of the financial stress that may occur after a death. Medical malpractice attorneys in Kentucky can advise families of deceased victims of their legal rights and options to seek compensation in a wrongful death lawsuit.
