Essure birth control causing “Essure problems”

Essure is a permanent birth control procedure.  There are many product liability claims pending against the manufacturer of Essure. It consists of small coils that are implanted into the fallopian tubes. The coils contain inner polyethylene terephthalate fibers held in place by a flexible inner coil made of stainless steel and an outer expanding nickel titanium coil.  Essure is designed to create tissue growth in the fallopian tubes creating a barrier to prevent sperm from reaching an egg and thereby preventing pregnancy.  It is recommended that three months after implantation of Essure that women have a hystersalpingogram or HSG test performed where dye is inserted into the fallopian tubes.  The purpose of the HSG is to determine if the Essure has created adequate tissue growth to block the fallopian tubes.

Many women were not warned or advised of the risks associated with the use of Essure.  Women who have developed injuries or problems refer to the problems as “Essure Problems”.  Essure has caused women to have chronic pain, excessive bleeding, and require hysterectomy surgeries.  Women who have had babies that have died or been injured while on Essure often refer to their “E-babies” and women who have gained weight refer to their belly weight gain as their “E-belly”.  For a complete list of injuries associated with the use of Essure go to http://essureproblems.webs.com/side-effects-of-essure.

The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has recently announced new “black box warnings” for Essure.  There continues to be pressure put on the FDA to recall Essure and completely remove it from the market.
