Multiple truck accidents result in roadway closures

Interstate highways across the state of Kentucky are heavily traveled and frequently congested with traffic. Commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers make up a large percentage of the traffic that utilizes these convenient roadways. Driving 70 mph along a crowded interstate highway close to one of these large trucks is enough to intimidate experienced drivers and novices alike. Recently, several truck accidents were reported on Kentucky interstates during a rainy morning.

A crash involving two tractor-trailers happened on Interstate 75 near Fort Mitchell. The two trucks reportedly collided with each other, causing a spill. According to authorities, HazMat crews were called in to clean up a large fuel spill. One woman was injured and hospitalized, reports said. All southbound lanes of Interstate 75 were closed for about seven hours.

The same morning, two separate accidents were also reported on Interstate 71 near Verona. According to reports, three commercial vehicles were involved in the accidents, one of which caught fire. Police said Interstate 71 was closed for several hours following the crashes. Officers believe wet road conditions may have contributed to the accidents.

A healthy and growing economy means more and more commercial vehicles are transporting goods back and forth across the United States. Kentucky is home to a convenient network of these heavily utilized roadways. It seems that truck accidents are increasing across the state due to higher volumes of traffic. Those who have suffered injuries or loss as a result of negligence in a truck accident may be entitled to compensation. Seeking the services of an experienced attorney could be very beneficial to victims and families.
