Alleged medical malpractice of nursing home claims woman's life

When humans are involved, mistakes will inevitably be made. Unfortunately, when errors or negligence occur in the medical field, the patients are directly affected. Some patients in Kentucky, especially infants and the elderly, may require day-to-day care. Negligence or delays in care could result in injury or even the death of the patient. When negligent care results in the injury or death, a medical malpractice lawsuit can be filed.

Recently, a lawsuit was filed against a nursing facility in another state after negligent care allegedly resulted in the death of a woman. According to the suit, the woman was admitted to the nursing facility because she required daily care. Allegedly, the woman suffered many injuries during her stay at the facility.

The lawsuit claims the woman's injuries included a urinary tract infection, pressure-related skin injuries and a kidney injury that was the result of dehydration. About three months into her stay at the facility, the woman died. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant neglected to provide adequate care and support, which resulted in the death of the woman. The plaintiff seeks all damages as well as court costs and attorney's fees.

Some elderly patients in Kentucky and across the country require daily care and supervision. Providing adequate care is crucial to the survival and well-being of these patients. Families that have lost a loved one due to negligent care may be able to take legal action. A successful medical malpractice lawsuit could provide financial relief to help families during this difficult experience.
